New Break-Through in Black Hole Theory

The mysterious monsters of the universe-Black Holes-are exonerated of a long-pending charge of not releasing any information they suck in. The noted British physicist Stefan Hawking claimed that black holes opens up and releases information about what fell inside. This has important philosophical and practical consequences. Earlier he suggested that black holes would not release any information which was contradictory to the fundamental principles of quantum mechanics. Prof.Hawking is due to present his theory at the 17th International Conference on General Relativity and Gravitation in Dublin, Ireland.

The UN General Assembly declared 2005 as International Year of Physics. The year 2005 marks the 100th anniversary of Albert Einstein’s publication of three important papers describing ideas that have since influenced all of modern physics. These papers were on Special Theory of Relativity, Brownian Motion and Photoelectric Effect. The year 2005 provides an opportunity to celebrate Einstein, his great ideas, and his influence on life in the 21st century. The International Union of Pure and Applied Physics has already declared the year 2005 as the World Year of Physics. A number of events will be organized all over the world to mark this occasion.
